The QB3 MacroLab is a core facility administered by QB3-Berkeley. Located in UC Berkeley’s Stanley Hall, the QB3 MacroLab offers automated gene cloning and recombinant protein expression and purification services.
Academic and nonacademic researchers are eligible to purchase services from the QB3 MacroLab.
Service Provided by lab:
- Competent cells (96 tubes; see our website for available strains)
- LIC Cloning (each, up to 24 samples)
- Single protein expression testing/optimization (E. coli only)
- TEV protease (40 mg)
- Cas9-NLS purified protein (2.5 mg)
- Protein purification (2 L E. coli)
- Custom work (hourly charge: UC Rate $74, External rate $160)
- Phusion polymerase (500 μl, for 1000 reactions)
- Macrolab plasmids (10 μl aliquot).
- Shipping (dry ice)
