UCSF Functional Genomics Core

We provide services to assist UCSF researchers in carrying out projects utilizing next generation sequencing approaches, including Illumina library preparation and bioinformatic analysis.

The UCSF Functional Genomics Core facilitates the use of state of the art, high-throughput genomic technologies for the research community. Our services are available to all UCSF investigators and we are happy to discuss collaborations with interested investigators at other institutions. We focus on functional genomics applications, especially RNA profiling (RNA-Seq and small RNA-Seq) and chromatin immunoprecipitation-sequencing (ChIP-Seq), using Illumina sequencers. We can also provide bioinformatic analysis for other types of sequencing, including single cell RNA-seq.

We are a multidisciplinary group that interacts closely with investigators and offers support for all phases of each study, including experimental design, sample preparation, quality control, and data analysis. We work through a recharge mechanism: investigators provide samples and we handle sample processing, quality control, and standard data analysis.
